Business 2.0 Believes in “Joe County” Airport

We will add the following claims from the magazine Business 2.O, reported in today’s News Herald to the list of hyperbolic claims for the new airport:

Five years from now, in 2011:

Median Home Price: $383,000 (2006: $223,000)
Population: 187,000 (2006: 166,000)
Median Income: $ 40,200 (2006: $31,000)

Prior claims: “more competitive airline service”, “lower fares”, “nonstop flights”, “14,000 jobs”, “employment zone”, “aircraft manufacturer X”,  “Boeing 767 daily from Britain”, “455,000 enplaned passengers”, “40,000 acre West Bay Preservation Area”, “EADS/Airbus manufacture”, “no cost to taxpayers”, “preferred alternative”… the hits keep coming.
